Nøgne Ø & Dugges Sahti

Sahti

Nøgne Ø & Dugges, Grimstad / Mölndal, Aust-Agder / Västra Götaland, Norway / Sweden

I RATE THIS BEER: 88

RELEASE: Special One-off Production // THE ABV. 11.0% | IBU’s. ? // THE NOSE: Honeysuckle, Acacia, Honey, Cotton, Maple Syrup, Heather // THE TASTE: Carrot Juice, Halls Honey & Lemon Cough Drop, Redcurrant Jam // THE BOTTOMLINE: This curious Norwegian-Swedish collaborative brew, a variation of a traditional Finnish Sahti style ale, literally erupts with the blissful aromas of freshly punctured honeycomb and an overstuffed florist shop. The floral theme is carried over to the Sahti’s body too. One sip and your palate will be awash with the bouquet of a hundred sugary wildflower petals, pollens and warm honeys. A pleasant and unique drink to say the least, my only complaint is that it pulls a bit of a Houdini act in the last quarter and disappears. Pair this with authentic Richter scale hot Thai, Indian and African dishes. // THE BACKBONE: Juniper Twigs, Sea Wormwood, Heather Flower Honey, Rye, Wheat, Belgian, German and British Yeasts // PRICE POINT: $10 | 1x 17oz bottle //
